Day 12--Pink leather Mules by Bandolino...I have a funny story to go along with these shoes to come later...
I've owned these shoes for about 5 years but truth be told I don't wear them very often. I like them because I have an affinity for mules, but they are a bit more uptight than my usual taste. They are very "sweet". I would expect to see them advertised the the Victorian magazine.
I'm always excited the first time I wear a new pair of shoes or try out a new piece of clothing. It's like you've given birth to a new look. So I was looking forward to wearing these shoes. I met my friend Sherry Van Blaricom at church one Sunday. John had stayed home that morning so Sherry and I sat down together. I was feeling good. Like the kind of excitement a child has when they are playing with a toy for the first time. The Pastor got up and explained that a family in the Church were struggling with some personal issues and placed an altar-call for those who felt led to come up to the front of the Church, kneel and pray silently for the family. This family was very near to my heart and I felt led to overcome my self consciousness, stand, walk up and kneel before the stage and pray for the family. Walking back to my seat I had such a feeling of pride that I had done something that I would have before felt too afraid of doing. I sat down and Sherry leaned over to me...I thought she was going to ask me about the family. Instead I heard......"Got new shoes, huh?"....With Sherry smiling and holding back a laugh I looked at my shoes and turned them over.... I had left the huge TJMaxx price tag on the bottom of the shoe and when I had been kneeling down to pray it was on display for all to see. Nice!!! I now ALWAYS remember to immediately take the tags off shoes before I wear them!!
Awesome story! My husband had a similar one....
ReplyDeletewearing a new tee shirt from Colorado, someone told him he had a "large sticker" on his tee shirt. He thought they had mistaken the logo/artwork on the shirt for a "large sticker". Oh no... he had a "large" sticker indicating the size, smack dab in the middle of his new shirt. hee hee. Keeps us humble, right!?!?
