Day 23---Let's Boot Up!
Day 23---Black boots by Steve Madden. As you can guess, these boots are not made for walk'in. You will not see me running a marathon in these! But who said all shoes have to be comfortable?
I had someone say to me yesterday that they don't "get" boots, as in they don't understand how to wear them. I guess I understand that. They can be a bit tricky. Boots come in all different heel sizes and shapes. They make different colors and lengths. It's important to know what pants or skirts to wear with what. For example, these boots are shorter so you definitely wouldn't want to wear them with a skirt. They need to be covered with a pant leg. Another thing is pant length. When you have a high heel like this you need some really long pants/slacks. You want to barely see the heels when standing upright (I pulled my pant leg up to show the heel in the picture). So it's important that you have the right length of pants to go with whatever shoes you are wearing. The same pair of pants may not work for two different pair of shoes depending on how tall the heel of the shoe is. Tall boots can be worn with pants or skirts. There are exceptions of course. You can wear tall boots with capris and sometimes depending on the short boot you can wear them with a skirt. It's all about creativity. I'm having fun wearing tall boots with skirts and knee highs right now. I'm pretty sure I am too old for it, but I'm going to do it until someone shames me into stopping! The best advice I can give for figuring out how to wear different boots/shoes, or putting whole outfits together in general, is to look around you and copy what you like! There is no shame in that. You might just need some inspiration. Once you get used to putting a certain look together the easier it is for your mind to conceive it. It just might take some practice. So step out of your comfort zone (pun intended) and go for it!
